Dear Minnesota.
October 12 is not winter. October 12 is fall. Fall and spring, each about 2 weeks long, are the only thing that I have to look forward to here in Minnesota. Please do not take them away from me. Please.
Today is a holiday*, but I had already made the commitment of going to work today. Now I am regretting my decision, because no one should have to go outside when it's snowing on October 12. I really don't appreciate this. Not even a little bit.
Thank you,
Sari
*Yes. It's Columbus Day. I'm off whenever the post office is closed. I don't know why. I don't make the rules, I just break them.

Why Do People Live Here?!?!
So, the Minnesota State Director asked me at lunch today if I was excited that it was snowing or angry that it was snowing. My response was....."I'd rather have the snow than the cold." My boss (the regional science director) replied..."you get both this week". I said......"why do people live here?"
And I meant it.
Tomorrow's high (ignoring windchill) is -5. Yes. -5.
To quote my friend House (who now lives in Memphis) when his friends from Arkansas called him while he was in Green Bay over the holidays and asked him what the temperature was......"There isn't one."
I HATE THE COLD!!!!!!!!!!!
And now I am preparing to be cross for the duration of the week.
