"Today" in the PJStar

I've not given you the news from the PJStar lately....mostly because I haven't been reading it. And, it turns out, in good cause. Because it's making me NEVER want to move to Peoria. From what I can gather, there ARE indeed major problems in Peoria, IL. They have a disproportionate number of house fires...almost all of them arson, the police force is mediocre at best, there's random street and gang violence, and they have absolutely NO money to put toward schools....to the point that nearly all of them are cutting staff, cutting facilities, or closing outright.

BUT! There are still shining beacons of hope in Peoria, and I will link you to a bunch of the most important.

Dangers of video gambling aired at town hall meeting (those of you who know me will know that I agree with this. That doesn't make it news.)

Last, but certainly NOT the least important thing reported in the PJStar recently: Big run leads Illinois past Kent State in NIT
